When we were in Paris, we kept looking for the perfect gift for the children - something really fun, yet something not too Parisian, because a gift that serves as a constant reminder of a holiday which you didn't get to go on is not a good gift. So we looked and looked, and nothing seemed right, and then Bobby came up with the idea of buying them a Wii. I was not wild about the idea, my thought being, well, if you want to play, say, tennis, can you not just pick up a tennis racket, go outside, and actually play tennis? But we went ahead and ordered the Wii anyway, and I found out that I had been wrong, because actually, Wii tennis is actually far more fun than real tennis. Same with Wii boxing and Wii baseball. The only annoying thing about having the Wii is how little I get to play with it. Apparently the kids believe that since we bought it for them, they should get priority.

M wants a Wii and I'm considering it. I was reading some stuff by OTs which says that Wiis serve to train gross motor and fine motor skills.

::sigh:: First of all I need the house to be bigger...

hey. that is the only video game I can get behind and rally for. The Wii offers some actual involvement and exercise.
I think it might be a good winter/cold weather thing.

That made me laugh too (a gift that reminds you of a vacation you didn't get to go on is not a good gift. heh!)

We love our Wii. I have always never been one for gaming, but it is a lot of fun for all of us. Just this evening, Jo and family came over for a night of Wii gaming and everyone had a blast. My favorite is either bowling or golf. Much more fun than actual golf, I must say. ;)
