I just wiped the front of the oven (or cooker, as they call it here) with Mr Muscle Kitchen Cleaner, and all the temperature markings came off. This should make baking interesting.

And to think that I had previously complained about having to mentally translate the oven's Gas Marks to either Fahrenheit or Celsius, depending on the nationality of whatever cookbook I was using.
