Gorgeous walk this morning; intensely blue sky, yellow leaves on the trees, and each blade of grass and fallen leaf outlined in ice.

I felt filled with energy today; whipped through all kinds of chores that I'd been putting off, and actively enjoyed the process instead of enduring it. I wish every day could be like today, where the simplest tasks feel joyful instead of tedious.

The radiators have kicked into action this evening, so the livingroom is warm and cosy. There's music playing, and the kids are playing mastermind on the sofa. In an hour or so we'll venture into the cold to fetch my parents from the airport; they've been in Portugal this past week. They'll spend tonight with us - we're handy for Gatwick - and go home tomorrow sometime.

Things feel good right now.
