Bobby's not going to India this weekend!
Someone else is leaving, and he's been asked to take over their role here in the UK. So he'll be shadowing them for the next two weeks, and then getting to grips with the new role. After that, we'll see. But we are hoping that, when he does go over, it won't be for as long as the original two months.
So - win-win situation! He keeps his job, and he doesn't have to spend two months away from home!
The downside is that the new role may well be a lot more stressful than his current one. More responsibility and stress ... sort of like his Florida job, only without the big paycheck.
Oh well. Cross that bridge when we come to it. Meanwhile, we're enjoying the unexpected reprieve. Such a change in perspective... This weekend is now something to look forward to, rather than something to dread.
