Every time one of our DVDs arrives in the post, I cringe a little, because it slides through the slot in the front door in a bright red envelope marked "LoveFilm". For some reason, our DVD rental company recently changed their name from the slightly cumbersome but not too awful "ScreenSelect" to the distinctly dubious-sounding LoveFilm. I just can't help thinking that anything from a place called LoveFilm should be arriving in a discreet brown paper wrapper, not a red envelope. Even though they have a slightly smaller selection of DVDs, I'm thinking of switching to Sofa Cinema because I like their name so much better.

We have watched a couple of good DVDs from them recently, though, among which were The Queen (much enjoyed by Bobby, somewhat enjoyed by me, not at all enjoyed by the kids, who were all "Diana? Who was she?"), Driving Lessons (a very enjoyable film for the family if you don't mind a bit of swearing and some discreet sex; we all thought it was worth watching though it got rather mixed reviews) and a new-to-us episode of Blackadder, which we all found as funny as ever, except for Sophie, who was very offended by a skit involving crazy red-headed barbarian Scots. It's true that the morning, pre-hair-brushing Sophie does have a certain wild, dishevelled air about her, but really, her siblings needn't have gone on and on about it...
