Back to work tomorrow.
Can't say I'm really looking forward to it.
However, in the spirit of fresh starts and new beginnings, I shall be borrowing Stephen's bicycle and riding to work tomorrow morning. I did a trial run today and it was actually surprisingly do-able. If by do-able one means makes one want to throw up, but doesn't actually kill one.
Bobby is taking tomorrow and the next day off, because the girls only start school on Wednesday. Well, Emily technically starts on Tuesday, but since "starting" only involves spending an hour at school in the afternoon she'll be home most of the day. I am a bit jealous of the fun things they are planning, although that is rather unreasonable of me considering the amount of holiday time I have compared with the amount Bobs has.
This past week flew by, probably because we had three separate sets of people staying with us. I like having visitors; gives us an incentive to tidy up and cook decent meals. Sadly, though, the meal I cooked for Friday night's visitor was absolutely foul. A vegetable moussaka that I'd made before, with very good results, but which for some reason turned out disgusting this time. The only reason anyone ate any was because we were all starving because the damn thing took forever to cook.
No news on the house front yet. Apparently the problem is that the final house in the chain, a newly built home, doesn't own the access route to the property. We have no idea how easy this will be to resolve. Our estate agent says we're "probably" looking at "a couple of weeks" delay, but who knows. We are growing to expect the worst with this whole property deal.
