People are really starting to panic about this new hurricane. Its projected path hasn't changed : it's still heading straight for us.

I went to the grocery store this morning, and they were almost out of water - just a couple of gallons left on the shelf. The canned soup aisle was practically empty too. And they had a guy rationing the ice - why would anyone stockpile ice anyway? I would have thought that stockpiled ice would melt before it could be very useful.

And they've announced that the schools will be closed on Friday.

These roofers had better move it : they've taken off all the old shingles, but they haven't even started putting the new ones on yet.

We are going to have to decide on Friday whether we go climbing or not. I think we probably won't go out of town if it looks like Frances is going to hit us. It would be awful if the house were damaged, and we had to contend with both storm damage and two days worth of subsequent water damage on our return ...
