Countdown

I'm having another teaching observation tomorrow. Last two periods of the day. On the second-to-last day of term, which is the charity fundraising day with the extra-long tutor/lunch period. So the students will all be high on christmas cheer and sugar, and probably wearing elf hats. I could have postponed the obs but I'd rather just get it out of the way - I really don't want it hanging over me all holiday. So, let's hope it goes well - and that they all remember to bring in their homework! (Clearly, they won't ... however, I have a contingency plan...)

Also tomorrow - during the long lunch - is the Secret Santa gift swap. Whatever I get can't be worse than the desperately boring island-themed calendar I got last year. I got my person a rather nice necklace from Monsoon, lucky them!

And then it'll be Friday - a half day, followed by Christmas lunch - and then it'll be, not just the weekend, not just the start of 16 days off, but also my birthday! Wheee!

(I am thinking that the scratchy throat that I developed during yoga this evening will disappear if I am strong-minded enough. I've already had one cold this month; it would be too cruel to get another one just as the holiday begins!)
