This morning Emily put on a PowerPoint presentation for me and Bobby, entitled "Why I should be allowed to go to the Mika concert." (The concert is on a Thursday night a couple of weeks from now, in London, and there has been much discussion about whether or not she should be allowed to go.) It's so hard to know how much freedom to allow her; what's safe for her and what's not; what's appropriate and what's not. Parenting teenagers is hard.
The picture is from last week; I walked home from work earlier than usual as I had my dire Crawley course in the evening, so I was just coming out of the park as the sun was setting. Not going to Crawley this Monday; it's Bobby's mum's last night with us. Plus, Ems has an appointment with her endocrinologist at 4.30 so I'd probably be late anyway.

I would so go see someone who sings about *big girls* ;-D
Who would she go with, how does she get there and home - no adult chaperones at all?
Ugh, I am already struggling with tween angst, not looking forward to the actual teen years...
biz
If we let her go, she would be with 3 friends; the dad of one of them would give them a lift to the venue and pick them up after... Think we will prob. say yes, she seems to have thought through most of the things that could go wrong...
Sounds like a thoughtful way to appeal to you. I hear you on the difficulty of what to say yes to.
