Em had an appointment with the endocrinologist today. She's growing beautifully, and was absolutely thrilled to find that she's finally hit the magic 5 foot mark. It is so cool to have her not only on the growth chart, but actually on the 10th percentile! I enjoy seeing the little red dot actually on the graph, instead of lurking somewhere at the bottom way below the last line. At 152.7cm and 34.6 kgs she is distinctly on the skinny side for her height, which worried the endo a bit, but since she is eating tons at the moment I think her weight will probably catch up soon.
The other medical news here is less pleasant. I got a letter in the post which says that the consultant has reviewed the mammogram I had in January and decided that "further views" are necessary. The x-ray department will write to let me know the date of the repeat mammogram, and I can phone my GP to discuss the matter further if I wish.
I felt a bit disoriented when reading the letter - I'd been so totally certain, before I opened it, that it was an all-clear, see-you-next-year letter that it took me a while to process the information. Once I'd taken it in, I started off feeling totally unconcerned - after all, it probably is just some kind of problem with the mammogram itself, rather than with my breast. But this evening some anxiety has crept in, and I find myself mulling over the what-ifs. Still not desperately worried, just a bit uneasy.
I will phone my GP tomorrow, and with any luck she will be able to put my mind at rest.

Thinking good thoughts for you.
So wonderful to hear that Em is growing.
I'll be thinking positive thoughts for you until you get your next mammogram. (((Hugs)))

Sorry to hear your worrying news. Seems like it would have been better for them to have let your gp know and for her to have contacted you about it.
Good news about Emily! At what height are they planning to stop the growth hormone?
