The sun came out yesterday, so my birthday was gloriously sunny and frosty. A lovely treat after the greyness we've had recently (and before today's freezing fog!)

Frozen sparkly cobwebs on the train station. We had ample time to study these, because we missed the train by 30 seconds - it was still on the platform as we arrived, but, since we had to get tickets, we had to wait a chilly half an hour for the next one.

It was a lovely day. It ended on a good note too - we braved the cold to walk into town and eat at one of the local Indian restaurants. Really delicious meal.

Sophie : But you're getting wiser too!
Me : Thanks Soph, that's nice to hear.
Sophie : Yes, you're like an owl.

One of those compliments that leave you with an uneasy sort of feeling.
