Quick update, so this time next year I'll remember all this:

Saturday - cleaning, laundry, (can't use the dryer here as it makes the walls run with water (no outside ventilation in the pantry, the absolute only place it will fit; luckily, there is a laundromat right across the road from us,) and my folks arriving in the evening to spend the night with us. First time they'd seen the new house; they said it has a "nice feel" now that we've got it organised. Wish they'd seen it as it was when we moved in.

Sunday - train to the Tate Modern to go on the twisty slides. Tears and heartbreak and absolute despair when Sophie wasn't tall enough for the slide that goes from the fifth floor, so we all (my parents excepted) went on the smaller ones. Lots of fun.

Sunday evening - parents left for home, I felt horribly ill. Had been tired all day; felt really dreadful by six, so I went to bed. Should not have consulted Dr Google about my symptoms before I did so; it did not make for a very restful night.

This morning - have just walked the girls across the busy road on their way to school; typing this up and trying to eat a banana at the same time before I leave for my first day at the new job.
