Something cool - we would have achieved a totally car-free week for the whole family last week had it not been for a non-car-owning friend who needed a lift to Ikea on Sunday. I rode to work again today, though I doubt I'll manage it every day this week, since the glorious weather we've been having is supposed to end tomorrow and be replaced by rain which will last till next Monday.
Saturday was interesting; some local caves were open to the public so we did a tour. I hadn't realised how extensive the cave system beneath the town is; quite odd, to think that we're walking on top of all those tunnels. Even odder is the fact that the local rifle club does their shooting practice in one of the tunnels. You have got to be a fairly strange individual to want to spend your leisure time underground in a cold damp dark tunnel shooting at cardboard targets.
Still no news about the house. However, in a moment of blind optimism we went ahead and ordered packing boxes, which should arrive tomorrow. Bobby still believes that we will be able to move at the end of the month; I, however, feel that this is becoming increasingly unlikely. I don't like to imagine our landlord's reaction if we can't move out on time ...
