"Mo-o-om! I can't find any clean so-o-o-ocks!"
"You must have socks, I did laundry just yesterday, don't you remember?"
"Yes, but now I don't have any. And I don't have any underwear either."
We've been having variants of that conversation almost daily recently, usually ending in guerilla warfare as Sophie sneaks into Emily's dresser and commandeers some of her socks and underwear.
"Mom! You have to STOP her! She's wearing my underwear again!"
Well, today we finally got to the bottom of the affair. (Sorry). Seems that, for the past couple of weeks, every time she's given a pile of clean ironed laundry to put away, Miss Sophie has simply been dumping it in the space under the eaves in her room, and then forgetting that she's stashed it there. We discovered this while spring-cleaning her room; Soph is a little sheepish about it all. Sheepish, yet unremorseful.
A nice soothing day today; cooking, cleaning, and playing dominoes with the girls. And Steve had a very good revision day. Back to work next week (and school for the girls and exams for Steve). I've enjoyed this break immensely.
