Poor Bobby is still feeling absolutely terrible. I took him to the doctor yesterday evening, and she diagnosed a chest infection, prescribed antibiotics, and said he's not to go back to work till next week. So he's on the couch, looking all green and clammy, with a temperature that seems to shoot up and down at random. He is being quite a good patient though; very uncomplaining. I think I'd be making more of a fuss in his situation. I'm trying to avoid succumbing to the bug myself; been eating tons of fruit and veggies (having those free school lunches is a real bonus) and I've actually walked to work twice this week. I'll have to take a camera with me sometime next week if I walk again; parts of the trip are really beautiful.
I've just picked Sophie up from a friends' house; she'd been invited over after school for tea. Tea being, as it turns out, not a beverage accompanied by a biscuit, but, in this case, beef and mashed potatoes. (Lots of people round here refer to their evening meal as "tea"). I hope this friendship sticks, both because the family lives just round the corner from us, which is convenient, and, more importantly, because the parents seem really nice. Unlike the chain-smoking screechy mother of one of her other good friends.
