It's drizzling, it's chilly, the wind is blowing, it's dreary and grey, and, since my dear husband left the Big Umbrella at work yesterday, I had to rely on a stupid not-properly-waterproof anorak to keep me dry this morning as I walked two miles in the rain. And I'll have to repeat the experience this afternoon. I might add that the anorak did not, in fact, keep me dry.
Why did your dear husband take the car today, you might ask? GOOD QUESTION would be my response, and I will be asking him myself this evening.
At this point I would also like to add (in the spirit of martyrdom) that, even though I was soggy and chilly, all three of my children were suitably umbrella-ed and rain-jacketed. Though you would have thought, from Sophie's reaction to her raincoat, that I was trying to kill her rather than keep her dry.
I am thinking that I would like to make a list of ways to cheer myself up on days like this. Only, nothing much springs to mind. Which is depressing in itself. So, if anyone has any suggestions - preferably suggestions that don't involve spending money - please leave me a comment or email me !
