This week has been all about stress and long car journeys and job interviews and bad temper and tension headaches and anxiety.

No fun at all.

Moving countries is a lot of hard work. I do not recommend it.

There is light at the end of the tunnel, though. Bobby has accepted a job. He's really happy with the position and the company, and will be starting work on the 15th. Which is pretty soon. Which has put a bit of pressure on us to find a home near his work. (At present, we're a good three hours away).

And - touch wood, cross fingers, hold your breath - we've found a house we love, in a town that seems wonderful, at a price that we can sort-of-kind-of afford. The estate agents are currently doing background checks and so forth on us, and, if everything is in order, we'll be able to get the keys on Wednesday and move in on Thursday.

I am terrified that something will go wrong ... the house seems too good to be true. I had been starting to despair of finding something liveable in a nice area, so I was absolutely ecstatic when we found The House. Not only does it have all the space that we require, it's in a great location. We can walk into the town, walk to the library, walk to the grocery store, walk to the park ... it's going to make one-car life very do-able. If it doesn't fall through. So think good thoughts for us!
