A snake slithered across our path on the way to the bus stop this morning. Just a garter snake I think, but I'm embarrassed to say we all screamed blue murder and leaped backwards. The snake continued towards us for what seemed like a long time, but eventually thought better of that idea, and disappeared off into the undergrowth.

Sophie has been pretending to be the snake all morning : "You'll never guess what happened to me this morning! I was just slithering across the sidewalk when three humans appeared right in front of me. And they were huge. One of them looked quite nice, the smallest one with sort of gingery hair, but the other ones looked really scary."
