It took us ages to figure out how to turn on the light in the master bedroom in the new house. Flipping the switch did nothing, but it seemed unlikely that all four lights in the fitting would have fused simultaneously. And while Bobby and I have been known to live with fused lights for weeks at a time (our inertia when it comes to household maintenance is fairly extreme), the sellers struck as more organised than that. Eventually we figured out that we need to use a remote-control clicker thingy to switch the light on. Very pleasantly decadent : we no longer have to get out of bed to switch off the light. Heck, we don't even have to read across to the bedside table to switch off the lamp. Only thing is, we haven't quite figured out the intricacies of the clicker thingy. Judging by the buttons on the front, we could (if we knew how) set the fan to come on at a certain time, set the light to come on at a certain time, and set a light delay. Whatever a light delay is. Oh, and we could program the temperature for each hour. I think. The button says "Temp./Set Hour" and there's a corresponding area on the LCD display. Sadly, these settings are beyond us. We have, however, managed to dim the lights such that it's no longer possible to read in bed. We did this accidentally, and have no idea how to un-dim them. Ah, technology. Isn't it marvelous?
